Clients who won't learn another app: what they see when they open CoachRack
A coaching app is only as good as its first ten minutes in a client's hands. If John cannot get in, cannot find today's session, or cannot work out which exercise goes with which, he goes back to the screenshot you sent him last month, and you are back to coaching through a chat. What follows is what John sees, from the link you send him to the last set of his first session.
The invite
Each client gets their own private link. You send it from your phone's share sheet, so it goes by WhatsApp, text or email, whichever they already answer. Each link works once and lasts 30 days.
One icon on the home screen
On a phone, CoachRack installs to the home screen once, and they open it from that icon from then on.
They stay signed in until they sign out, or until you remove them. That one detail retires a message every coach knows: "I can't get in."
A short tour on first open
The first time they open it, they are offered a short tap-through tour. It walks them round the app, so you are not explaining it over WhatsApp.
The session, as you wrote it
Open today's session and your warm-up and cool-down are on the workout screen, word for word as you typed them.
Link two exercises as a superset and they show as 1a and 1b, so there is no guessing which goes with which.
If you have a demo for an exercise on YouTube, paste the link once. You can paste a batch, one per line. A Watch button appears on that exercise, so your demo is right where they need it.
Some exercises do not fit kg and reps. "Accessories of your choice" or "10 minutes easy on the bike" can have a comment box instead. They write what they did, and you read it.
When they need a timer, it opens from the workout: rest countdown, stopwatch, EMOM or intervals. Nobody leaves your app halfway through a session to find a timer somewhere else.
When the week does not go to plan
Real training weeks go wrong in small ways. The squat rack was taken, so they swapped to leg press. The last set came up short. They felt good and added a set.
They log what really happened: changed numbers, an extra set, a skipped or swapped exercise. You see it against what you set, so you are reading their actual session and not a tidy version of it.
Days move too. A client can do a session early or log a missed one on a later day, and it keeps its date. You still see what was set and when it was actually done.
They can also look ahead. The coming week's sessions are there to preview, with the demos, so Friday's session is no surprise on Friday. Of those, only next week's first session can be done early.
Why the client side matters to you
Every question a client does not have to ask is one you do not have to answer at nine at night. We think fewer taps between them and today's session means fewer reasons to put it off, and more logged sessions for you to coach from.
CoachRack is for personal trainers and the people they train, in the gym, at home or online. The quickest way to see the client side is through one of your own clients, on your own programme.
